Outcry

Tuatha De Danann

Born among the green leaves
This forest was our home
For countless generations
It's where we've learned and grown

Our elders taught us how to live
As theirs have done before
To never take more than we give
It's the heart of nature's law
Creatures of the jungle were our guide
We walk with the old gods side by side
The spirits of our ancestors defamed
Trees cut down, our village set aflame

Upon that fateful day
The hateful gringos came
To desecrate this land
Brought slavery and shame
Our arrows were no match
For fire-sticks & sword
They smelt our gold to crucifixes proclaim Jesus lord!

500 Years have passed and now
I ask you what has changed?
2 Owns the wealth the rest still starve estranged
Chainsaws replace the axes
And the dollars treasures old

We're still watching all this holy ground
Been raped, stolen & sold
Pride and territory were deprived
It feels sometimes like our gods have died
The time has come to stand up for your rights
Children of this holy land now raise your spears and fight

Upon that hateful day
The gringo bankers came
They crucified you all
Pure profit was their aim
To them this sacred land
Has just financial worth
They gain their strangle-hold on the pure lungs of
Mother earth!

All around the planet
There's still tribes who realize
That these lands are their domain
Do you think these guys are right?
From gold to wood they raped us
No trust nor dignity it's our turn to roll the dice
We, the children of the green
