Pearls (before The Swine)

Damion Suomi

Walk away from me now don't cause me to sin.
Good women they always scare me.
I met one last spring, should've bought her a ring while her gin was still wet on my lips.
But like a dog returns to his vomit and spit, sure a fool always quotes his own folly.
And the sins of the father, don't care nor they bother to profess the right way to live.

Don't throw your pearls before the swine.
Don't serve your wine before its time.
Don't give 'em what they don't deserve, lest they turn and trample you.

Narrow's the road that leads you back home, but i need some room for dancing.
Accuse me a glutton and crown me a drunkard, and of dining with tax collectors.
Sing for the sick not the healthy.
The poor and the wealthy, for mercy not sacrifice.
And the fruits of the spirit are gentle and kindness and they're paving the path of the right.

Don't throw your pearls before the swine.
Don't serve your wine before its time.
Don't give 'em what they don't deserve, lest they turn and trample you.

A fool in his heart says there is no god, but i'm starting to question that logic.
'cause you seem at best jealous and jest and unable to answer my questions.

'cause what father would give his children a snake or feed to the dog what is sacred.
You may threaten your fire my conscious aspires a heart to live its convictions.

Don't throw your pearls before the swine.
Don't serve your wine before its time.
Don't give 'em what they don't deserve, lest they turn and trample you.
